Two JC O-linemen join Griz football team
The University of Montana football program has added two outstanding offensive linemen from the junior college ranks to its team, announced Griz head coach Robin Pflugrad.
Brothers Jordan and Logan Hines, transfers from Phoenix College in Arizona, have accepted scholarships, and will join the team in time for fall camp, which begins on August 8th.
Jordan is a 6-4, 315-pounder, while Logan is 6-4, 310. Both players started at tackle last season for the Wolves, and both will be sophomores eligibility-wise at Montana.
"Jordan has the ability to play both guard and tackle," said Pflugrad. "He gives us good diversity on our line, and obviously he has excellent size. Logan played center in high school, and has the ability to play guard or tackle as well. Both Jordan and Logan are intelligent and versatile players.
"We signed both players with the intention of letting them compete for quality playing time on our offensive line," Pflugrad said. "We have the luxury of them having three years of eligibility, plus they each have a redshirt year available. The will definitely help to shore up our O-line."
The Hines brothers prepped at Northwest Christian High School in Phoenix.
Jordan was a two-time all-state selection as a prep at offensive left tackle. He played in the Arizona All-Star Football Game and was named to the All-Arizona Football Team by the Arizona Republic.
Logan was a first team all-state pick as a senior and a second-teamer as a junior at center. He also played in the Arizona All-Star Football Game and was named to the All-Arizona Football Team by the Arizona Republic.
Jordan and Logan are identical twins, born Nov. 20, 1991. Their parents are Brian and Tina Hines of Phoenix. Both players will major in business management.
